Carol McPherson is a multimedia video and podcast producer and alumna of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, a bachelor's degree in Communication, and a Certificate in Film Studies. Her body of work includes experimental narrative, video essay, travel video, corporate video, feature length comedy, and documentary in locations ranging from Massachusetts and New Hampshire to Italy and Croatia.
Carol has worked in a professional capacity as a freelance editor for clients such as M2 Thermal Solutions, WelCel, Wicked Good Results, the Princeton Triangle Club, and more. She has also worked on set as a production assistant with 20th Century Fox and Paramount Pictures. As head Video Editor/Creator with SmarterTravel, a proud member of the Tripadvisor family, she was able to combine her skills in storytelling and film with her passion for travel. During her time with the company, she independently produced and edited over 90 videos for their website, YouTube, and social channels (pre-production, filming, post-production, marketing, SEO optimization, and social media promotion), managed their YouTube and social video analytics, worked closely with PR companies and tourism boards to coordinate on-location shoots, and produced and voiced SmarterTravel Media's premiere podcast Virtual Vacations.
Her most valuable asset is her multidisciplinary background. Drawing from the ethical standards of anthropology, the theories of communication studies, past industry experience in e-commerce and marketing, and strong media literacy skills, she is able to organize and execute multistep projects and troubleshoot as problems arise. Carol is currently the lead editor and motion graphics supervisor for the Princeton Triangle Club's upcoming feature length film, set for a January 2021 release.
